Digicel Foundation Promotes STEM Education on Read Across Jamaica Day

Read Across Jam (1080 x 720 px)Kingston, Jamaica – May 07th, 2024 - Digicel Foundation reaffirms its commitment to advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education by participating in Read Across Jamaica Day. On Tuesday, May 7, Digicel Foundation, and its dedicated volunteers visited five schools across the corporate area, engaging students in interactive reading sessions and exciting science experiments.

The schools included in this initiative were the Salvation Army School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Children, the Early Stimulation Development Centre, Windward Road Primary, Harbour View Primary, and Bull Bay Primary Schools. Through these visits, Digicel Foundation aimed to inspire a love for learning, particularly in the fields of STEM, among Jamaican youth.

Partnering with Dianne Plummer, Author and CEO of STEM Spark Solutions, Digicel Foundation facilitated engaging reading sessions where students had the opportunity to explore Plummer's book, "Science in the Sun." Following the reading sessions, students actively participated in captivating science experiments, sparking their curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
